PM Modi says those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice, will not be spared

Jammu and kashmir chief Minister Omar Abdullah though said the death toll is still being ascertained, and will be announced officially later. “This attack is much larger than anything we’ve seen directed at civilians in recent years,” he said on X.
Condemning the terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that those behind the heinous act will be brought to justice. Mr. Modi held a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the terrorist attack, and directed him to take all necessary measures in response to the incident. Mr. Shah has left for Srinagar to hold an urgent security review meeting with all the agencies.

Perpetrators will face harshest consequences: Union Tourism Minister on Pahalgam terror attack
Describing the terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam as a “cowardly act”, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said its perpetrators will face the “harshest consequences”.
“Deeply pained by the brutal terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, J&K. My thoughts are with the families of the victims of this cowardly act, perpetrators of which will face the harshest consequences,” the Union Minister posted on X.
Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. M.V. Suchendra Kumar rushing to Srinagar
As per Defence sources, Northern Army Commander Lt. Gen. M.V. Suchendra Kumar is rushing to Srinagar from New Delhi. He will be briefed by local formation commanders on the present security situation in Kashmir Valley. He was in New Delhi for a conference.

Karnataka govt deploys team of police officers to bring back the mortal remains of the deceased tourist
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he had held an emergency meeting following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, with senior State officials and dispatched multiple teams to Jammu and Kashmir to coordinate response efforts. The CM’s response came after it was reported that tourists from Karnataka had been injured in the attack.
In a post on X, Siddaramaiah wrote, “I strongly condemn the heinous terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, J&K. Kannadigas are among the victims of this shocking incident. Upon receiving the news, I convened an emergency meeting and reviewed the situation with the Chief Secretary and senior police officials.”
“I have also spoken to the Resident Commissioner in Delhi. Following my directions, two teams — one of senior officers and another of police personnel — have been dispatched to J&K. An adventure team from the Sports Department, led by Commissioner Chethan, is also en route. We are closely monitoring the developments. All necessary support will be extended. Please be assured, the Government of Karnataka stands firmly with those affected,” he added.
